Welcome to
Dementia Club UK
People with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia are welcome to attend with their carers, friends and families and we also welcome those who have lost someone with dementia and are now lonely. Dementia Club UK provides people with another lifeline, giving care and support, professional advice, fun activities daily and above all Hope.
What We Do
We run several dementia club sessions in various locations. Details of all the venues and session dates can be found on our programme.
Each session aims to provide you with professional advice and information, gentle exercise to music and fun activities in a social atmosphere with cups of tea/coffee and lovely cakes.
Various speakers will attend the sessions and we also have a GP who volunteers their time and attends most sessions. Our GP takes blood pressures and also answers any medical concerns.
Dementia Club UK commissioned Middlesex University in May 2015 to undertake an independent research study to evaluate the impact and benefits of our provision on people living with dementia and their carers in the community. The research showed (demonstrated) the club as having a positive impact on those living with or caring for a person with Dementia, based on its techniques and the model used in its cafes. Dementia Club UK goes above and beyond to provide help and support to those living with dementia and also their carers and families to put smiles on their faces and give them a better quality of life.
Our Zoom Sessions
We run two Zoom musical afternoon sessions from 2.30pm to 4.30pm twice a month on Tuesdays. Please check our programme for dates. The sessions includes (Quizzes, Chair Exercises, Music Entertainment and Bingo).
We also have a Carers Group Meeting every week on Tuesday in the evening from 7pm to 8.30pm. Please see our Programme and get in Touch with Lisa if you would like to receive the Zoom joining links.
