Our monthly Dementia Club UK session was held on 4th April at Sha’arei Tsedek Synagogue in Whetstone.
We had some lovely news, Lisa Rutter’s (Chairman and founder of Dementia Club UK) father has been given the title of Archimandrite, which is a great honour in the Orthodox Church. Caroline, one of our lovely volunteers, became a Grandmother today, to a beautiful baby girl called Aria. Huge congratulations to them! It was Melvyn’s 87th Birthday and we all sang “happy Birthday to him.
We had some visitors from WALFINCH care agency- Marcelo Navarro (Manager) and Operations Manager Carla Van Wyk
Our members were served tea, coffee, delicious biscuits and beautiful homemade cupcakes (courtesy of Caroline!) at the start of our session and were happy chatting to each other.
The wonderful Jane then led an exercise session which all our members participated in and enjoyed.
The talented James LeBec entertained our members with a variety of popular songs to which many of the members and helpers danced. He also did a music quiz and everyone got very involved guessing the artists! It was great fun and James presented us with a delicious box of chocolates as we had won the March music quiz!
21 members and carers attended the session with the assistance of seven helpers who were:- Justine, Caroline, Keith, Stephen, Melissa, Lisa & Mark.
