Que Sera Sera by Judy Karbritz

We sit around the table
Scattered with wordsearch and colouring pencils
Wives helping husbands
Daughters supporting mothers
Good humoured chattering
While tea is poured

Time to move to the other side of the hall
Helen, the music therapist,
Plays ‘Getting To Know You’
On the piano

Helen reminds us of the actions for
‘Catch a Falling Star’

And now, are there any requests?
One lady’s eyes crinkle
Her smile wider than moon river

She is helped to the front by her daughter
She sits and faces us
As ecstatic as if she had won the lottery

In total delight our own Doris Day
Conducts us as we sing
Que Sera Sera
