42 members and carers were hosted today at Friend In Need and it was great to welcome two new members, Malcolm and Yvonne. Faz led the session and handed out a pancake colouring sheet and a wordsearch to mark Shrove Tuesday. Faz also hosted an A to Z quiz on items found in the kitchen which members really enjoyed as they excitedly called out the answers.
Our much loved seated exercise instructor Eon joined us next. Members loved moving around following Eon’s lead. Thank you, Eon, for keeping us active.
After the exercise, came a lovely opportunity to sing a couple of our favourite songs. Everyone was given a music sheet so they could follow and sing along. James Le Bec then sang a range of songs which got members out of their chairs and eagerly dancing along. Thank you James for a wonderful musical session.
After the music, James ended our session by reading us all a lovely poem. It was a delight to hear him recite it with such passion.
Thank you to the Friend in Need volunteers who did a wonderful job supporting the session and serving us teas, coffees, cakes and biscuits.
Finally, a very special thank you to Simone and Lisa two of our new carers who helped out massively at both the start and end of the session.
