The launch of the ‘Forget Me Not Football’ dementia club was a great success today on Tuesday 21st November 2023. We had 30 people. This was set up through Middlesex FA who received a grant to expand this new project to other Boroughs. We are the first in Barnet to set up ‘Forget Me Not Football’. Dementia Club UK is delighted to be partners with the Over 50’s Barnet Walking Football Team who will be leading the sessions. I am proud to be working together with Shaun the Manager of the Barnet Walking Football Team.
We were honoured to have the Mayor of Barnet Cllr. Nagus Narenthira at our launch who also participated and scored a goal. Everyone had so much fun doing the activities. At the end Shaun gave each of the participants a little souvenir trophy to take home which they all felt excited to receive from the Mayor. The session then followed with everyone going to the café where we had a huge cake for the Mayor to cut. Everyone had a great time.
