The Eversfield centre at Mill Hill was warm and welcoming as thirty or so gathered for our October meeting of Dementia Club UK. Tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits were accompanied by a buzz of chattering and laughter, as we tried to complete the word search of hidden trees.

Later Helen Tierney on the piano and “squeeze box” enthusiastically led us through songs old and new, some with accompanying actions! To end the music session, we sang the National Anthem and got it right, but it did need all our concentration to sing ‘King’…..

Finally, after decorating the outline of a hedgehog, we had a go at a short quiz set by Mill Hill Rotary President Jeanette Poulton. If you had been present, you would now know the correct name for a baby hedgehog (urchin), how many are resident in the UK (about one million) and if hedgehogs can swim (yes).
