Today we had 17 members who attended our Dementia Club session at Barnet Copthall Leisure Centre. A new café opened recently at Barnet Copthall called ‘Deep Beat Entertainment Life Cafe’. It was a pleasure to meet Joyce one of the managers and Lamia and another member of staff who gave us all a very warm welcome, serving our members teas and coffees accompanied by delicious cakes and biscuits.
Faz the session leader kept the members busy today doing Easter themed activities which included: anagrams, colouring and an Easter word search. We were then joined by Richard today who led a great seated exercise session which our members enjoyed. For the final part of the afternoon, we had our lovely Ian, who entertained us with a beautiful mix of old and new songs to keep us on our toes and smiling.
Huge thanks to the friendly staff at ‘Deep Beat Entertainment Life Cafe’ for all their help with the refreshments today and for setting up the tables. Members look forward to returning again next month. Thank you also to my new volunteer today- Darshan Vora, for all his support during today’s session. Last but not least we warmly thank Lisa Our Chairman and Mark who joined us today and supported the session.
