It was wonderful to welcome so many members old and new to our buzzing session, run by Faz at Barnet Copthall Leisure Centre.
Members were treated to delicious cakes and apple pie whilst they engaged in colouring and word searches all about our beloved Queen.
Lisa our chairman and Krissy from Barnet Copthall Leisure Centre spoke to everyone about a new Dementia friendly swimming session that will be taking place at Finchley Lido. Please contact Lisa if you are interested in attending.
Our friendly Rachel joined us next, our members were full of smiles as they happily engaged in gentle exercises. It was a heartwarming session, thank you Rachel.
Helen our singer kick started the last part of the afternoon with a birthday song. Here at Dementia Club we have a very special tradition, we have a cake and light a candle and we all join in singing ‘Happy Birthday’. Olga we wish you a very blessed upcoming 94th birthday. It was marvellous to see so many members participate and enjoy singing along to many favourites including ‘Catch a falling star’ by Perry Como. Everyone had a lovely time, thank you so much Helen.
