Walking Football session on 16th Sep at Barnet Copthall

Faz was leading today’s session with support from our Chairman Lisa Rutter, Keren and the Barnet Walking Football team.

Shaun began the session in the large sports hall today with warm ups to a few of our favourites. Excitement was building in the hall as our members participated in our regular egg and spoon race. This activity encourages everyone to keep their body moving whilst simultaneously focusing on hand eye coordination.

Playing catch with an inflatable ball is another way to develop these skills especially for those members in a wheelchair.

Practicing kicking a football into an inflatable goal is a safe way for our members to experience playing football at a slower pace in a relaxed and comfortable setting.

After a  busy session in the hall our members made their way to the bright and airy Angel Cafe next to enjoy the second part of the session. Gayle was entertaining our members today as they relaxed and quenched their thirst with a nice hot drink.

After a little bit of encouragement our members were up and dancing to some easy listening, soft rock music from the Carpenters. Little did we know that our talented Gayle is also part of the Carpenters tribute band!. Thank you Gayle for delivering superb afternoon of singing and dancing.

As always we very much appreciate the efforts of everyone involved in our session. Faz ended by giving warm thanks to our Barnet Walking Football team, Keren and our Chairman Lisa.
