Faz ran today’s busy session, our wonderful Helen from Barnet Walking Football team began the first half of the session today with some easy stretches to a couple of our old time favourites including’ How much is that doggy in the window?’. Our members love to respond by mimicking a dog and shouting ‘woof woof ‘ back which always has us grinning from ear to ear.
After a quick egg and spoon race our members were free to explore all the different activities on offer. The pool table was popular with our new member David and Savas. Playing pool or snooker is an excellent way to strengthen friendships and this was illustrated beautifully by David and Savas today.
One of our new members attended our session with their granddaughters and daughter. Here at DCUK we always welcome family members to join in the fun as it is a great form of respite for the family as well.
Glorious Gayle joined us whilst we were settling down in the cafe with our drinks. Gayle sang a variety of rock and roll for us and as the session progressed our members were up and dancing to the high energy up beat music.
Special thanks were given today to Helen and Davina for stepping up and taking over the hot drinks orders. They did an amazing job, Faz was very grateful to them and also the rest of the Barnet Walking Football team for supporting today’s session incredibly well.
