Faz & Lisa ran today’s busy session at Finchley. Colouring and word searches were distributed to keep our members busy whilst our volunteers were preparing hot drinks for everyone.
Laughter has long been proven to relieve stress and relax the mind, so Faz chose to read out a few lighthearted summer themed jokes to everyone. Eventually we had a few grins and even a laugh or two!.
Bingo resonates well with our members and it is also a great way to engage everyone in the room. Members were eagerly anticipating if their number was going to be the next one to be called out. Our members listened carefully to Lisa our Chairman and Faz as each number was called out, this was a great opportunity to practice memory and cognitive skills.
With no exercise today we also had the opportunity to play ‘Higher or Lower’ which is a card game based on probability and a little bit of luck!.
Eleanor joined us today for an up beat musical extravaganza. Beautiful songs from the 60’s and 70’s were sung. Rock and roll was on the horizon and our members were keen to join in by mimicking playing a guitar and singing along to the songs well loved songs. Everyone was having fun, it was good to see so many smiles and a few giggles along the way.
As always Eleanor did an amazing job today, we thank you warmly. Our volunteers were a great support today as well and we also thanked them during the session.
